Senior Sustainability Specialist and Brazil Country Representative

What you can expect:
As a Senior Sustainability Specialist and Brazil Country Representative, you will combine market development, client engagement, and sustainability advisory services to strengthen Preferred by Nature’s presence and impact in Brazil.
You will support clients in meeting:
Sustainability and responsible sourcing commitments
Regulatory due diligence requirements (e.g. EU Deforestation Regulation and related frameworks)
Supply chain risk management, traceability, and verification expectations
You will also act as a key representative of Preferred by Nature in Brazil, building partnerships and contributing to business growth and visibility.
Working with us is never routine so in the first year, you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
Leading market development and stakeholder engagement in Brazil, including implementing marketing strategies and representing Preferred by Nature at key events
Driving business development and sales, including identifying opportunities, managing client relationships, and preparing high-quality proposals
Delivering and managing sustainability advisory services such as policy alignment, benchmarking, due diligence systems, and supply chain risk assessments
Managing advisory projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, budget control, and client satisfaction
Monitoring regulatory developments and sustainability trends relevant to Brazil and global markets
Collaborating across global teams and contributing to innovation, knowledge sharing, and service development
Your first year with us:
Within three months, you will:
Build understanding of Preferred by Nature’s services, internal systems, and sustainability priorities in Brazil, while establishing internal collaboration with REC and SER teams.
Map key stakeholders, clients, and market opportunities in Brazil and begin engaging with relevant networks and partners.
Support proposal development and contribute to ongoing advisory projects to gain familiarity with service delivery and client needs.
Within six months, you will:
Independently deliver sustainability advisory services, including sustainability system benchmarking, regulatory analysis, supply chain due diligence, and risk assessments.
Contribute actively to business development by identifying opportunities, supporting sales processes, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Represent Preferred by Nature in stakeholder meetings, industry events, and marketing initiatives to strengthen the organization’s visibility in Brazil.
Within one year, you will:
Lead advisory projects and manage key client relationships while ensuring high-quality service delivery and project outcomes.
Drive market development in Brazil by expanding partnerships, identifying strategic opportunities, and contributing to regional growth.
Act as a senior representative of Preferred by Nature in Brazil, supporting cross-divisional collaboration and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Important that you:
Have a degree in sustainability, environmental management, forestry, agriculture, natural resource management, business, law, or a related field
At least 7 years of experience in agriculture, forestry, or natural resource sectors, including delivering projects for corporate or donor-funded clients
Solid experience in project management, including working with multi-stakeholder or multi-country initiatives, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, and quality delivery
Proven ability to build and manage client relationships, deliver advisory services, and support business development or partnership initiatives
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders—from smallholders to government authorities—in both Portuguese and English
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global and cross-functional teams
Would also be great, but not necessary, if you:
Experience working in an NGO or international organization
Familiarity with EU regulations such as EUDR or corporate due diligence frameworks
Spanish language skills
