Join Preferred by Nature, an international non-profit organization to support better land management, sustainable supply chains, and climate-friendly business practices globally. As our Certification & Regulatory Impact Intern, you’ll support both our Preferred by Nature Certification Program and our Regulatory Impact Program, contributing directly to tools, insights, and materials used by sustainability professionals worldwide.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
1. Support the Preferred by Nature Certification Program (50%)
- Contribute to developing tools and materials supporting the certification program.
- Assist with risk assessment development used by auditors.
- Support research and technical preparation for certification processes.
2. Support the Regulatory Impact Program (50%)
- Track and analyze sustainability-related policies and regulations.
- Conduct research and prepare written input on key regulatory developments.
- Support development of stakeholder tools related to regulatory trends.
- Assist with internal communication and organizational tasks.
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN
- Insights into sustainability certification systems and real-world auditing contexts.
- Practical experience with policy monitoring, governance, and sustainability regulations.
- Experience in communication, research, stakeholder content and CRM-related tasks.
- Understanding of how global sustainability programs operate.
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
- Final-year or recent MA graduate *in 2025 in geography, forestry, biology, environmental studies, sustainability, development studies, or related fields.
- Strong interest in sustainability policy, governance, or regulatory developments.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.
INTERNSHIP SPECIFICS:
Start date: March 2026
Duration: 6 months
Location: Various EU countries: Denmark, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia (hybrid)
Either active MA status or graduation in 2025 *MA degree in geography, forestry, biology, environmental studies, sustainability, development studies, or related fields
Internship hours per week: 30 hours (can be adjusted more/less for the right candidate)
