Programme Manager, Regenerative Agriculture

What can you expect?
Preferred by Nature is looking for a Programme Manager to lead our Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs) Programme in Europe, with a focus on Italy, Poland, and Hungary.
This role is central to delivering high-quality LENs activities, building resilient landscapes, and ensuring access to financing for on-the-ground measures. You will lead a team of around 7 FTE, coordinate operations across multiple countries, and ensure robust Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) of implemented measures.
You will work closely with farmers, local stakeholders, and food companies to strengthen collaboration and ensure the successful implementation of regenerative agriculture and nature-based solutions.
Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
- Lead the delivery of LENs activities across Italy, Poland, and Hungary, ensuring projects are implemented on time and within budget.
- Build strong relationships with partner companies and stakeholders to secure long-term financing and strengthen collaboration.
- Guide and support your team, fostering motivation, ownership, and professional growth.
- Shape and oversee Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems to ensure transparency and credibility of results.
- Represent Preferred by Nature at regional and global forums, promoting regenerative agriculture and landscape resilience.
Your first year with us:
Within three months, you will:
- Understand Preferred by Nature’s mission, structure, policies, and culture; gain in-depth knowledge of the LENs framework, active projects in Italy, Poland, and Hungary, and their funding structures.
- Establish strong connections with the 7 FTE team, associated external consultants, internal units (Advisory team, Finance, HR), and external partners; begin attending regional/global LENs meetings.
- Ensure smooth execution of ongoing activities, including logistics, contracts, and service provider coordination, while monitoring compliance with timelines, budgets, and funder requirements.
Within six months, you will:
- Take ownership of Preferred by Nature’s LENs activities across the three countries, troubleshoot challenges, and embed robust monitoring and reporting systems to track progress and outcomes.
- Deepen collaboration with local stakeholders business partners; identify and assess opportunities for new partnerships or funding to expand programme reach.
- Reinforce regular one-on-one and team meetings, guide capacity planning, support onboarding of any new staff, and begin implementing professional development pathways for direct reports.
Within twelve months, you will:
- Drive annual planning and budgeting processes, aligning with Preferred by Nature and partner expectations; explore expansion opportunities for the Programme.
- Ensure Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems are fully embedded; present comprehensive results to funders and leadership, demonstrating tangible progress in landscape resilience.
- Build a motivated, high-performing team; complete annual performance reviews; represent Preferred by Nature as a recognised leader in regenerative agriculture and nature-based solutions at international forums
Important that you Have:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree within a relevant area, such as Environmental Sciences, Agronomy, Social Sciences, Business Administration.
- 5-10 year experience in Project Management, preferably from international projects with multiple partners and high complexity.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and diplomacy.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and service providers.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Possesses and understanding of funder requirements and expectations.
