What can you expect?
Preferred by Nature is looking for an Agronomist to support our regenerative agriculture initiatives in Poland. This role will focus on implementing sustainable farming practices, supporting farmers and processing companies, and advancing Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) efforts to assess environmental impact.
You will play a key role in promoting regenerative agriculture, supporting stakeholders in sustainable land management, and ensuring project alignment with funding requirements. You will work closely with farmers, technical experts, and consortium partners to implement best practices, track key performance indicators, and drive positive change in agricultural systems.
Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
- Provide technical assistance to farms and processors in developing proposals and action plans aligned with regenerative agriculture methodologies.
- Deliver hands-on support to farmers implementing sustainable land management practices.
- Conduct field verifications and assessments to monitor the progress of regenerative agriculture programs.
- Collaborate with MRV service providers to facilitate data collection, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Strengthen engagement with public and private stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of our initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of monitoring systems to track soil health, biodiversity, and resource use.
- Support reporting and communication efforts with funders, partners, and regulatory bodies.
Your first year with us:
Within three months, you will:
- Develop a strong understanding of Preferred by Nature’s mission, regenerative agriculture strategy, and ongoing projects in Poland.
- Conduct initial field visits to assess current land management and farming practices.
- Support the development of farm and processor action plans, ensuring alignment with funding and sustainability goals.
Within six months, you will:
- Take ownership of project implementation, ensuring alignment with regenerative agriculture methodologies.
- Provide direct technical support to farmers and processors, guiding them in executing their action plans.
- Oversee the implementation of sustainable farming practices and track key performance indicators.
Within twelve months, you will:
- Lead and coordinate project activities, ensuring smooth execution and reporting.
- Identify new opportunities to scale regenerative agriculture initiatives within Poland.
- Develop best-practice case studies and contribute to knowledge-sharing platforms.
Important that you:
- Have a degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
- Have practical farming experience and strong technical knowledge of arable crop production and supply chains.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, land management, or related projects.
- Have experience coordinating teams of farmers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Are skilled in planning and managing agricultural projects efficiently.
- Have strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience working in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Have proficiency in GIS tools and MRV methodologies for tracking sustainability impacts.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
- Are fluent in Polish, with working knowledge of English.
- Have a valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
