Join us as a part-time consultant and support us in our efforts to innovate sustainable agriculture. As a flexible member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with the Landscape Enterprise Network (LENs) Program Manager and Lead Agronomist to revolutionize farming practices.
Your tasks will involve providing crucial technical assistance to farms engaged with the LENs & RSP (Responsible Sourcing Program) Program, crafting proposals, overseeing the implementation of sustainable measures, and monitoring their impact directly in the field. You'll also play a pivotal role in shaping our Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) strategy and ensuring data integrity through fieldwork support. Engage with stakeholders at various levels, contributing your expertise to drive meaningful change. Your work will not only influence the present but also pave the way for a more sustainable future in agriculture.
What can you expect:
As an external consultant coordinated by the Preferred by Nature representative in Poland, close collaboration with the LENs Poland Program Manager and Lead Agronomist, and with the Responsible Sourcing Program (RSP) Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to farms either participating in or intending to participate in the regenerative agriculture programs. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing timely technical support to farms and processors in the development of proposals and action plans for submission to program funders, ensuring alignment with the program's objectives and methodologies.
- Ensuring the timely provision of technical assistance and overseeing the implementation of measures, in accordance with LENs or RSP technical guidelines.
- Conducting regular field verifications to assess the implementation of measures at the farm level.
- Collaborating with the projects consortiums to support the development and management of a Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) strategy.
- Supporting MRV service providers in field data collection and verification activities.
- Conduct annual assessments for the crops and processors in the scope of the RSP
- Participating in stakeholder meetings at both local and national levels, either in person or remotely, as agreed.
- Undertaking any additional tasks as assigned by the program coordination team.
Area of work: This role is primarily remote, with periodic on-site visits to farms for providing technical assistance in Wielkopolska or adjacent region.
Job Type: Consultancy work of approximately 100 to 120 hours per month, with the flexibility to increase hours based on workload requirements.
Contract Duration: one year, (can be renewal, based on performance and project requirements)
Important that you have:
- Practical farming experience.
- Degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
- Self-employed consultant .
- Strong technical knowledge of arable crop production and supply chains.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
- Knowledge of GIS is considered an advantage.
- Fluency in Polish and strong English skills.
- Valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Ability to work effectively within a dynamic and creative team environment.
- Personal attributes: proactive, curious, and eager to grow professionally.
- Based in Wielkopolska or an adjacent region.
