Carbon Footprint Specialist, Czech Republic

If so, you may be the ideal candidate for our Carbon Footprint Specialist role focused on carbon footprint certification and consultation.
What you can expect:
As a Carbon Footprint Specialist will work within our climate and restoration program and will focus on servicing our carbon footprint clients, both for certification/verification and consultation. Your professionalism and focus on quality will be central, in managing our client portfolio in the Czech Republic and other countries. As soon as you start your new job, you'll be managing certification for clients and learning how to audit sustainability standards with the distinct Preferred by Nature quality. You'll be auditing against our approved carbon footprint standards and after a few months, you'll be supporting to grow and improve these services.
Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
- Help strengthen Preferred by Nature’s brand by helping us manage our portfolio of clients in the Czech Republic.
- Ensure the audit processes are completed on time and with quality.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients by diligently planning audits and ensuring that high-quality reports are submitted on time.
- Gain valuable insights in the climate area by using your ability to communicate with people at all levels of our client’s organization and with people with a diverse set of occupational and educational backgrounds.
- Grow your own network and Preferred by Nature’s client base by serving as a primary point of contact to support potential, new and existing clients.
Your first year with us
Within three months you will:
- If you don't have certification experience, we will provide the necessary training related to CFM (Carbon Footprint Management Preferred by Nature Standart), CFV (Carbon Footprint Verification Preferred by Nature Standard) and any other carbon footprint related accreditation needed, and give you the skills needed to audit these in accordance with our high-quality standards.
- Grow your auditing skills by learning from the best auditors in the Climate and Restoration Team by participating as observer in the necessary audit processes (expected 2 to 4).
- Understand and appreciate the relevance of our systems and digital tools, which are fundamental to running an efficient auditing business.
Within six months you will:
- Take steps towards working independently as an auditor by completing four audits as a trainee auditor along with writing, reviewing, and finalizing certification reports.
- Build relations with important stakeholders by serving as the representative of Preferred by Nature towards government, industry, and NGOs in the region.
- Build your leadership capabilities as you take your first steps to become a task manager.
Within twelve months you will:
- Have achieved the skill level as a trained auditor.
- Have evolved into task manager and serve as one for assigned jobs acting as quality control for reports prior to final submission.
- Be seen as a true ambassador of Preferred by Nature displaying good knowledge of new services like our Carbon Footprint Verification, Ecosystem Restoration Services and the Preferred by Nature Certification.
- Be travelling to other countries supporting our auditor business there.
Important Qualifications:
- Master's degree: in a related field such as environmental science or similar field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience with a similar position. Previous experience with carbon footprint calculation.
- Technical skills: Experience working with GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO 14064 (1, 2 and 3), ISO 14067, or other GHG related standards. Ability to calculate carbon reductions and experience with emission reduction measures. Ability to work with emission factors, experiences with soil or forest carbon accounting is an advantage, same as experience with LCA analyses for different products
- Knowledge/Experience of land use
- Language Skills: Fluent in the Czech language and knowledge of English at a minimum B1 level.
- Digital tools: Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Communication: Ability to communicate with the clients and conduct trainings.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
- Experience with land-use carbon accounting
- Experience with LCA for different products
- Experience with ecosystem restoration and carbon projects
